Permanent Freelance Senior Lead Developer I have been freelancing at Publicis UK continuously since 2009 working independently between the different agencies within the company itself, having had constant work between Publicis London, Publicis Chemistry, Publicis Blueprint, Publicis Modem, Publicis Ideas to Market, Publicis Poke and Vividbrand.
Publicis has and continues to prove to be a fast changing competitive player in the advertising industry. Over the years I have seen many divisions of the company disband and new collaborations formed through mergers and acquisitions constantly changing the work environment, acquiring new clients, and employees, while bringing a change in structure and strategies. This presented incredible opportunities to work on a vast range of diverse projects with new teams and technologies always arising. Additionally, I was the Lead developer for Publics London for two years as well as the lead developer for Ideas to Market for over a year.
The work at Publicis has been very varied between the agencies over time, however the majority of the work includes responsive HTML5 (and previously Flash/AS3), websites and landing pages, Rich Media dynamic banners and advertising campaigns (DoubleClick, Sizmek, Adform), Responsive HTML emails, perfected responsive HTML EDM templates for all Litmus clients, dynamic systems for advertising Rich Media Banners, Kiosk adverts, billboard digital OOH screens, multi platform advert development and After Effects Videos. A few significant projects can be found below with many more examples coming soon and available upon request.
Renault and Dacia have been a long standing client of Publicis since I joined the company. Over the years (since 2010 with Publicis Modem) I have built thousands of Rich Media Banners (Flash & HTML5), Responsive Emails and templates for Renault and Dacia. The turnover for their advertising campaigns has always been fast and constant and required many developers to hand code each creative, which was not ideal, as it was time consuming when challenged with high volumes of work and therefore limited productivity.
This presented an opportunity to develop a system which produced a high volume of rich media dynamic banners on the go, without the need for developers or coding.
I was the lead and sole developer on this project which turned out to be very successful and then later developed as a standard between the Renault Group for 34 countries in the Europe ‘G9’ region.
I developed a fully customizable, adjustable, HTML5 dynamic template system, using HTML5, JavaScript and CSS, while hosted on DoubleClick Studio and accessed via Google Sheets.
The system itself allowed for the fast creation, yet fully customizable advert at any size, for any style or purpose with virtually no limits.
This increased productivity immensely and it was possible to produce, traffic, and publish live, hundreds of banners easily per day.
I was also requested to create a set of video and documented tutorials for trafficking and media agencies to use (see video example). After the success and presentation in Europe, this system was requested to be made standard throughout Europe and therefore I then developed further tutorials, videos and documentation to guide other agencies in Europe, on how to implement similar advertising systems.
Publicis Chemistry were tasked with creating the full development of the new EE campaign that was launched in October 2012 to introduce the new Brand EE. I was part of a small team that developed everything digital for this campaign, which included developing the master code of the main branded EE animated particle engine which has been used to create, and can be seen, on nearly all EE animations till today on websites, adverts, banners, videos and more.
One of the most challenging projects was the development of a new emerging Augmented Reality (AR) experience, that was used to interact with customers in over 200 EE stores in the UK .
The interactive application was developed using C++, Cinder, and the Microsoft Kinect SDK and Sensors to detect sensory motion capture from the user. The application is intended to capture the body movement of a customer and map that on to the screen with the person's body drawn as dynamic moving particles/bubbles which follows the new EE design campaign. The person could then interact with all the new banding symbols and be responsive on screen while the user interacts with the application.
Since the launch we have continued to work on multiple EE ad campaigns, including responsive website landing pages, dynamic banners, responsive emails, digital OOH screens and AE videos.
I created and developed a large set of Digital Out of Home (DOOH) Screens for EE. I used Adobe After Effects CC to create all of the videos and was tasked with around 50 videos to create.

Spearheaded the end-to-end development of the quarterly Orange Exchange digital magazine, a high-impact interactive platform. My role involved continuous R&D and technical innovation, ensuring each quarterly release offered an increasingly sophisticated and engaging user experience.
