Arbitrator
A person appointed to settle a dispute.

Armed robbery
A robbery committed with the use, or threatened use, of a deadly or dangerous weapon such as a gun or a knife.

Arrest
When an accused person is taken away and held by the police in custody.

Attendance centre order
An order which requires young offenders to attend a centre run by the police or the Youth Offending Team for two or three hours on a Saturday. The order can last up to 36 hours depending on the age of the offender and the seriousness of the offence.
