Racial abuse
Abuse which has a racist motive, and which is a more serious offence in law.

Racially aggravated disorderly behaviour
Behaviour which has a racist motive, and which is a more serious offence in law.

Rape
When a person has sex with someone else without their consent.

Recover debt
Using the courts to get back money owed to you.

Rehabilitation
This helps offenders change their behaviour so that they can stay out of trouble in the future.

Remand
To order an accused person to be kept in custody (rather than allow them bail) until they appear in court.

Reparation
When the offender makes amends to the victim or the wider community for his or her crime, for example by making an apology or writing a letter.
