Vandalism
Destroying or damaging someone else’s property on purpose. A person who does this is called a vandal.

Verbal abuse
To insult or mistreat someone using words.

Verdict
The decision on whether a person is guilty or not guilty of committing a crime.

Vote
To express an opinion by choosing something, especially a candidate in an election.

Witness
The person or people who saw a crime taking place, and who give evidence in court.

Witness Service
Victim Support provides a free service for witnesses called the Witness Service. This is available in every magistrates’ and Crown Court in England and Wales. Witness Service volunteers provide support to all witnesses – both prosecution and defence – during and after the trial.
