Court of Appeal

If someone appeals against a judgment made in the High Court or a county court (for civil cases), or a Crown Court (for criminal cases) it will be heard in the Court of Appeal. (Appeals from the magistrates' courts are heard in a Crown Court.)

The High Court is also a Court of Appeal. It deals with appeals of judgments made in civil and family cases from the magistrates' courts.

The House of Lords is the highest appeal court in England and Wales. Only cases of major importance are heard here.
