You have a number of different rights when you take on a job, whether it is part-time, temporary, fixed-term or permanent.

These rights cover issues such as the following:

  • Minimum wage
  • Age
  • Disability
  • Sex or gender
  • Race or religion
  • Sexual orientation

Most adult workers are eligible for the National Minimum Wage, provided they:

  • Are working legally in the UK.
  • Are not genuinely self-employed.
  • Have a written, oral or implied contract.
