Whenever you buy something, you have rights as a consumer under the Sale of Goods Act.
The goods you buy must be 'as described'. This refers to any label, advert or verbal description made by the person who sells them.
The goods must be 'of satisfactory quality': the products must not have any minor or cosmetic defects, or substantial problems. Products must also last a reasonable time. However, you will not be able to rely on any faults that were obvious if you examined the goods before you agreed to buy them. Also, you will not be able to rely on faults that were pointed out to you before you agreed to buy.
If you buy something that doesn't meet these conditions, you have the right to:
Return it, so long as you don't wait too long before doing so.
Get a full refund.
Compensation (to cover the extra cost), if it will cost you more to buy similar goods elsewhere.
