This activity encourages the students to express their opinions about statements relating to the law. The students read each of the statements and drag and drop them into the following headings: Strongly agree, Agree, Disagree and Strongly disagree.

Discussion
Talk through the statements. Ask the students which ones they feel strongly about, and why. Are any of the statements directly relevant to the students at the moment?

Role play
In small groups of three, invite the students to choose one of the statements. Tell them to imagine they are on a chat show with one being the interviewer, one agreeing with the statement and one disagreeing. What would each of them say to back up their arguments? What would the interviewer need to ask to find out what they really think?

Extension activities
Ask the students to imagine there are no laws. Challenge them to create a timeline or a storyboard for a film, for a day at Crownford Rise without laws. What kind of things might happen if there were no laws?
