Compensation for victims
Do the students think this approach is fair and reasonable? How do they think compensation awards should be used by the recipient?

Probation Service
Students write a diary entry from the point of view of a probation officer in Crownford Rise.

Anti-social behaviour orders (ASBOs)
Prepare an argument that supports the following statement: 'ASBOs make a real difference to people's lives.'

Youth Offending Teams (YOTs)
One of the objectives of the Youth Offending Team is the 'swift administration of justice so that every young person accused of breaking the law has the matter resolved without delay'. Why is this important?

Curfew orders and other ways to deal with anti-social behaviour
Stage a class debate and allow the students to expand arguments both for and against the use of ASBOs, ABCs curfew orders etc. 'This class believes that there must be a range of measures to prevent young people from breaking the law.'

Other help for young people in trouble with the law
Can the students prepare a summary sheet of sites which give information for young people in trouble?
