Juries - who?
What do the students think it would be like to do jury service? Do they see it as a responsibility for every citizen? Are there ever valid reasons for avoiding jury service?

Giving an oath in court
Ask the students to explain why an oath is necessary. Can they give other examples of situations that call for solemn oaths?

Appealing a decision
Challenge the students to find out about a landmark case that was upheld in the Court of Appeal.

Refusing bail
Ask students to summarise why bail is important and why it might be refused.
