Activity: Sam's decision

PSHE & Citizenship 4a. 2c.

View activity

This is a decision tree activity. Sam considers the consequences of keeping quiet, telling a friend or an adult, or going to the police station.

Discussion
What would you do if you were in Sam's shoes? What would be your concerns?

Extension activity
Ask the children to write about a time when they faced a moral dilemma. What did they have to weigh up before they could decide on the best course of action?

Role play
Role play in pairs the decision Sam had to make. Take turns to be Sam or his friend or relative. Encourage Sam to reach a decision by asking some or all of these questions:
  • What's the best thing that could happen?
  • What's the worst thing that could happen?
  • If it was you being bullied, what would you want a witness to do?
  • How do you think you'd feel if you did nothing?
  • How do you think you'd feel if you went to the police station?
