Youth courts
Do the children think that special courts for young people aged between 10 and 17 are a good idea?
Why is it essential for the young person to be accompanied by an adult?
What is the main purpose of a youth court?

Other punishments for anti-social behaviour
The children can prepare a TV report about laws that apply to 'kids on the street'. They could include a mock-up of signing an ABC, in which the young person voluntarily agrees to change their behaviour.

Downloadable activity sheets

Activity sheet 7 - Who's who in the justice system?
A chance to summarise the pupils' understanding of the different people they may encounter within the justice system.

Activity sheet 8 - Me the judge?
The children complete an audit of their own skills and say which job in the court system they would be best suited to.
